Day 1 (Arrive Hue):

Arrive at Phu Bai Airport in Hue where you will meet your guide and be driven to your hotel. The rest of your day is free.

Day 2 (Hue):
Full Day: Perfume River Cruise, Ancient Citadel and Dong Ba Market Tour
Depart hotel: 8:30am
Finish: 5:00pm approx.

After breakfast, meet your guide and board a river boat to cruise upstream to Thien Mu, a tranquil pagoda on the banks of the Perfume River. From there, a vehicle will be waiting to take you to Emperor Minh Mang’s Mausoleum.

After lunch at a local restaurant, take a tour of Hue’s Ancient Citadel, once the seat of the emperors of the powerful Nguyen Dynasty that ruled Vietnam from approximately 1800 to 1945. You will begin with a stroll around the area between the Citadel’s massive walls and the defensive moat, now filled with lotus flowers. Then enter via the Noon Gate to wander around the Thai Hoa Palace, the Pavilion housing the Nine Urns of the Nguyen rulers, and the remains of the royal palaces. In 1968, the Citadel was the scene of fierce fighting as the Vietnam War gained momentum. Your guide will point out evidence of this fighting that remains today. After, visit the Museum of Antiquities and the bustling Dong Ba Market.

Day 3 (Hue):
Full Day: De-Militarised Zone Tour
Depart hotel: 7:00am
Finish: 5:30pm approx.

As this excursion covers a large area of the wartime ‘De-militarised Zone’, better known as the DMZ, our guide and driver will meet you at your hotel at seven o’clock to drive north to Quang Tri Province. Your visit will include the battle sites of Khe Sanh Base, Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River, as well as the Old Citadel of Quang Tri and the Vinh Moc Tunnels (these are more authentic and easier to enter than those in Cu Chi.)

You will also visit Van Kieu, an ethnic minority village before returning late afternoon, to your hotel in Hue.

Day 4 (Hue to Hoi An):
Depart hotel: 9:00am
Finish: 4:00pm approx.

Leave Hue and travel towards Da Nang and on the way, cross the Hai Van Mountain Pass. Visit the remnants of the Old French Fort and take in the magnificent views including Lang Co Beach and Da Nang spread out before you to the south.

In Da Nang, visit the remarkable Hindu statuary in the Cham Museum. Before proceeding to Hoi An, drive-by Nam O Beach where the American soldiers first came ashore in March 1965, and My Khe (China) Beach, a popular R&R location for American soldiers.

After lunch, you will have a guided tour of the Ancient Town of Hoi An. Visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Assembly Hall, the Old House of Tan Ky and the Hoi An Traditional Arts Performance House.

Day 5 (Hoi An):
Full Day: Ba Na Hills, Golden Bridge, Lady Buddha Statue, Marble Mountains
Depart hotel: 7:30am

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Hoi An and drive to the Ba Na Hills. Take the cable car to the first stop and visit the famous Golden Bridge with Giant Hands, the Flower Garden and the Linh Ung Pagoda.

Take the cable car back down to the car and drive to lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, travel to the giant Lady Buddha Statue. Located overlooking the sea, on the Son Tra Peninsula in Da Nang, it is the tallest of its type in Vietnam. Then, visit the magnificent Dragon Bridge before your last stop at the Marble Mountains.

Return to your Hoi An hotel with the your evening free.

Day 6 (Depart Hoi An):

Your day is free as you wish until your driver picks you up from your hotel to take you to the airport at Da Nang, in time for your onward flight.

If you find that you are unable to join a tour that has been booked, confirmed and paid in part or in full, the paid amount of that tour less any unrecoverable costs, may be converted to a voucher. The value of that voucher may be used towards the same tour with a later departure date or any other HWT tour.

If a refund is requested, the following cancellation fees may be deducted from the paid amount:

• Greater than 14 days prior to tour start date - 10% of total tour amount + any unrecoverable costs

• 14 days or less but greater than 7 Days prior to tour start date – 50% of total tour amount + any recoverable costs

• 7 days or less (including 'no show') prior to tour start date - No refund
